Market and Business Opportunity

The increasing diffusion of 5G services that shift from voice to data and an increasing share of mobile traffic are changing significantly the market.

Mobile services will grow (CAGR ‘24-’39 +3%) as a consequence of the strong growth of the IoT component, in terms of connected devices and related connectivity revenues.
The more traditional components (A2P and roaming) are expected to experience a more conservative trend, due to price pressure for both A2P and roaming services, even in presence of increasing volumes, in particular for IoT and 5G services.

Voice Traffic

Most of WW Ws voice revenues come from medium-small size countries with relatively low volumes of traffic and very high terminating rates, wich grants significant margins for operators.

In order to define the priority destinations for business development, crossing for each country the retail cost/price margin and the country relevance in terms of estimated incoming voice volumens together with its economy (GDP and population), it is possible to group the destinations with higer TR margin in three clusters: Very Hig, Hig and Medium Priority.

High Priority can be assumed to be attributed to a range of destinations, mainly emerging markets in the sub Saharan and Central America/Caribe regions, Chatacterized by very high retail gross margins and medium/low levels of traffic and ort economic development.

Medium priority is attribuited to destionations with high margins and low volumes /economic relevance, mainly from Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
